NATIONAL TV SERIES SHOWCASES ABORIGINAL PROSPERITY
THROUGH BUSINESS SUCCESS
VANCOUVER
-- Prosperity and Aboriginal. Until recently these words were
rarely used together. Today, in every sector and in every region
across Canada, Aboriginal businesses are flourishing.
One national television series tells the story of a new phenomenon
sweeping our nation; that of Aboriginal business success. Venturing
Forth launches its second season on the Aboriginal Peoples
Television Network, January 2, 2002 at 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm
Pacific.
Venturing Forth
explores how the dream of Aboriginal prosperity is becoming
reality - through partnerships, innovation, entrepreneurial
spirit and determination.
Building on the success
of last year's series, executive producer and host Brenda Chambers,
and her team of producers, have created a jam-packed, 13-part
series that explores how Aboriginal men and women across the
country are taking their rightful place in corporate Canada.
"We are very
encouraged by the success of last year's series, and we received
many letters, phone calls and e-mails from people across the
country," said Chambers. "I was especially touched
by an elder from Manitoba who told me that the Venturing Forth
stories gave him tremendous hope for the future and that we
need to keep telling those stories because they inspire all
of us, especially young people."
The first series
continues to run on APTN, and it will also air on the Saskatchewan
Communications Network starting Monday, January 7 at 7:30 pm
with a repeat the following Sunday at 5:30 pm.
Venturing Forth
is produced by Brenco Media Inc., an
independent Aboriginal video and television production company.
