Not so Healthy

There are many issues that plague the health of First Nations people. Suicide; HIV and AIDS; diabetes; substance abuse; physical, emotional, and sexual abuse; lack of services; and lack of health education are to name just a few. All of these issues are compounded by the fact that most First Nations people live far below the poverty line. All of these issues plague the youth of our nation. This episode of Venturing Forth will explore the issues of health education for youth, as well as other health issues. We will profile some youth who are working to educate other youth on important issues such as suicide prevention, HIV and AIDS awareness as well as sex education. These are youth who are making positive changes for themselves and their communities.
